Beginning Knit One

In this 2 part series students will learn basic knit techniques, fiber/needle education, will begin a project, learn various finishing techniques, as well as how to take basic knit stitches and turn them into decorative patterns.

Project: Waffle Stitch Dishcloth with Garter Ridge Border

Dates: 2 sessions, April 8, & 22, 2017 Noon to 3:00 PM

Materials Needed:  

*Needles size 7, 8, or 9 recommended. Bamboo suggested for beginning knitters. Straight or Circular.

*1 skein worsted weight yarn – cotton blend recommended. Bamboo and linen make excellent blends for this project.

Darning needle

Scissors

Row counter

*Students who wish to deviate from recommended needle size and/or yarn weight should talk to instructor first to ensure appropriate materials are acquired for this project.
